Built on a bluff, looking southwest along the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains, the design of this earth-bermed house with a living roof integrates technology, craft, environmental stewardship, and form. It features the use of local vernacular materials, requires almost no maintenance, and produces all the energy that it uses.
